Our client is a leading marketer of a full line of dairy-based consumer, food service and food ingredient products across the United States. Their brand is recognized and valued by consumers and customers nationwide and internationally. They are seeking a Strategic Operations Manager at their corporate office in the Midwest.

The Supply Chain & Operations division provides strategic leadership across the Company’s many business units. The team plays a significant role in fueling revenue growth and profitability through operational excellence, quality, process improvement and innovation. By partnering closely with Finance, Marketing and Human Resources, the team delivers value to the business units, members and customers.

Position Purpose:

This position will drive cross-functional strategic initiatives and process improvements across Supply Chain in the areas of quality, service and operational effectiveness.

You will partner with the Senior Strategic Operations Director to ensure that the business and marketing strategy is clearly understood and executed by Sourcing, Manufacturing, R&D, QA, and Planning & Logistics functions.

Other accountabilities: Partner with marketing leaders on implications of strategy from a network perspective. Represent the eyes and ears of all constituents in providing feedback and leadership to improve Company’s cost structures, quality, service levels and asset utilization. Must be key in identifying best practice processes and benchmarks applicable to the businesses. Provide leadership of Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) and Technical communities for assigned product categories and platforms.

Outcomes will include higher levels of communication and alignment between various segments of the supply chain resulting in: streamlined and competitive operations, outstanding product quality and food safety systems, excellent customer service, and successful business growth and launch of new products.

Qualifications:

Experience and Education (Required):
-Bachelor’s degree in Supply-Chain-related or technical disciplines, Manufacturing, Engineering or Food/Dairy/Feed Science
-8 or more years of progressively responsible food or feed industry experience  and Process Cheese Manufacturing or Technology Background

Experience should include:
Manufacturing, quality assurance, logistics, finance, forecasting, and progressive continuous process improvements in the food industry
Strategy development and execution of enterprise-wide change initiatives
Must be proficient with team and people leadership skills in addition to demonstrating the ability to manage complexity and simplify processes.

Experience and Education (Preferred):
MBA is preferred but not required.
