As a Senior Scientist, Implementation & Support, you will be responsible for providing expertise in the area of formulation development to successfully guide and implement product improvements and new product development.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new and improved products in accordance with Company’s innovation strategy and follow their product development processes including, but not limited to, sensory data, stability studies and product performance testing.
• Lead projects that demonstrate measurable business impact.
• Lead functional teams and actively participate on cross-functional teams.
• Identify project issues and obtain necessary resources to achieve objectives.  Execute and/or solve food-science-based issues encountered in product development.
• Identify opportunities for improvement or simplification of products or technical processes.
• Incorporate externally-sourced innovation into applicable projects and identify opportunities for innovation pipeline.
• Coordinate all documentation that supports final product formulation.
• Apply internal and external technical knowledge discoveries, ideas and vision and share with colleagues through documentation, presentations, publications, invention records or patents.
• Interpret patents and understand the legal implications of patents, product claims and advertising; review the patents of competitors.  Develop ideas and data and write Invention Records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications include:

• MS in Food Science
• 7+ years’ relevant work experience in product development in the food industry

Preferred Qualifications include:

• PhD in Food Science
• Working knowledge of nutritional science
• Relevant work experience in product development in the pet food industry
