Job Title: Manager – Manufacturing Cost Analysis

Our client is a privately owned, fast-growing food manufacturer.  They have 40 years’ experience making premium-quality, branded and private-label condiments.  They currently have a new opportunity for a Manager – Manufacturing Cost Analysis at their location in the Southeast.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to assure that the cost build-up of ingredients within the Company’s formulations is accurate. Work with Sales on timely new product costing. Must apply principles of cost accounting to conduct studies that provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems by performing the following duties:

PRODUCT PRICING/COSTING ANALYSIS:

• Product quotes – New/Existing Products
• Establish and maintain product costing
• Customer product reviews/analysis
• Customer and Product Profitability

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in manufacturing cost accounting.

LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

Manages accounting staff’s duties to support financial reporting and accuracy of information.

Displays transformational leadership capabilities and is able to energize others.                     

Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting systems and reports to show receipts and expenditures.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year, accredited institution of higher learning plus 7 to 8 years’ related experience.

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ERP and Microsoft Office software.
