Our client is a manufacturer of high quality, fresh frozen products for the food service and retail industries.  Due to expansion of their R&D Department, they have a new opportunity for a Culinary Scientist at their location in New England.

The individual must be a self-starter, meticulous, creative, resourceful, persistent, and results oriented. He/she should be open to working in a large-scale food manufacturing environment. Lastly, but most importantly, this individual should work well with others.

Responsibilities/Skills/Capabilities:

• Product formulation.
• Experience in developing for multiple markets/ channels; e.g., retail, private label, food service, and/or national accounts.
• Capable of authoring operating specifications for the commercialization of bench products.
• Capable of defining problems and proposing solutions.
• Knowledge in developing experimental designs.
• Knowledgeable in performing statistical analysis (knowledge of Minitab a plus).
• Knowledge of sensory study design and sensory data analysis.
• Capable of  managing, analyzing, and interpreting data.
• At ease presenting products, data, and analysis to different audiences.
• Familiar with stage gate process for product development.
• Works well in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, lean environment.
• Can adjust easily to changing priorities, diversity of projects, and to differing skill levels of job tasks.
• Creates strong partnerships, collaborates well with team members; teaches and learns continuously.

Education/ Experience Requirements:

• BS or MS Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or Biology with 2-3 years’ experience in product development.
• Must have a strong culinary focus. Genuine interest in culinary-inspired food product development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
