Our client seeks a strong Quality Assurance manager for one of their largest aseptic and ESL plants, based in Northern California. This facility has two plant managers, is 160,000 square feet, and sits on over 30 acres of land. This individual will manage 25 individuals, including SQF specialists, lab support staff, and Assistant QA Managers. Their lab will support both the aseptic and ESL facilities. This is an SQF Level 3 plant. The Company is a family-owned dairy company with more than 160 years of service. Their name has been synonymous with fresh, quality dairy products that taste great. They have grown into one of the country’s largest branded dairy operators with approximately 3,000 employees and 13 manufacturing plants throughout the United States. The Company also maintains its own research and development operation, which supports the superior product quality and innovation that their customers have come to expect.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Make certain GMP’s and acceptable production standards are being followed and adhered to.
In conjunction with Sales, handle all customer complaints or quality issues and determine what action or remedy needs to be implemented, both internally and externally.
Intervene when appropriate to correct or realign product and/or procedures to maintain quality standards.
Oversee sanitation of facility to meet Regulatory and corporate requirements.
Act as liaison and contact person for Regulatory agencies involved in plant inspections.
Responsible for maintaining a current awareness of Regulatory issues, and the implementation of compliance requirements.
Oversee Export Documentation.
Maintain accurate records of all product testing and sanitation records.
File Regulatory reports, as needed, regarding Milk testing and record keeping.
Support SQF requirements.

Education and Experience Required:

B.S. degree in Biology, Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry or equivalent.
15 years of experience in quality assurance roles in the dairy and/or aseptic industry, with a minimum of 5+ years of quality production management experience.
Need strong leadership skills.
Working knowledge of government/regulatory agencies.
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access.
