We are currently seeking a customer-driven individual to develop and manage new products from bench top through production trials for a major, market-leading customer. This individual will need to effectively manage projects in an effort to meet customer requirements for timelines, performance and cost objectives while adhering to our client’s standards. The candidate will need to have or develop a strong knowledge base in stabilizers, fruit, colors, and flavors. This individual must be able to provide technical support to production and the customer regarding any performance issues that arise during product development and launch. The candidate will also become familiar with production line capabilities at all 3 locations. Critical thinking and the ability to work with short timelines is a must.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The applicant will be expected to facilitate the effective exchange of information internally (sales, quality, regulatory, process engineers, purchasing, and product development team) as well as externally (customers and suppliers). The Scientist would develop and execute work flow for the technicians through strong communication and organization of project activities. Additionally, the individual should be able to provide overall project management by creating realistic timelines and facilitating open communication internally as well as with the customer to accomplish objectives.

Candidates must have either a B.S. in Food Science along with a minimum of 3 years of product development experience in a food company or a M.S. in Food Science with no experience necessary. Expertise in formulation, process scale-up, use of functional ingredients such as stabilizers (starches, pectins, gums), colors, flavors in fruit formulations, food regulations, and problem solving are a significant plus. This position will travel up to 25%.
