Our Client, is a leading brand manufacturer of jams, fruit preparations, sweets and custard-based desserts worldwide. In North America, our client is the leading fruit processing company and has major facilities in Philadelphia, PA, Plymouth, IN and Gardena, CA. They specialize in fruit preparations for a variety of customers including yogurt, ice cream and bakery manufacturers. They are currently looking for an Account Manager for their East Coast region.  Individuals can reside in PA or NJ.

Position Summary:

Manage a portfolio of current business with key accounts and generate new business with new customers. Nurture existing key account relationships and develop additional relationships with new customers. Manage role as primary point of contact between the organization and the customer. Manage customer problems to resolution. Partner with other departments within the organization to bring satisfaction to key accounts.

Identify, evaluate, and validate new customer business opportunities. Establish rapport with purchasing and R&D depts.
Maintain current customer accounts: Handle complaints, discuss new project opportunities, negotiate pricing, innovation/ capabilities presentations

Initiate, follow through, and manage scale ups Travel to and from customer accounts, plan travel, Expense Reports

Negotiate left over raw materials with customer product discontinuations

Sales meetings, conference calls, scale up meetings, S&Ops meetings

4 Year college degree in business, food science, or comparable

Minimum of 10 years key account or outside sales experience. Minimum of 5 years experience in the food industry, calling on other food manufacturers. Ability to discuss technical concepts with R&D and convey features and benefits to purchasing and upper management.

Ability to understand technical food concepts and applications, develop long-term relationships with customer, negotiate annual contracts, and present innovative ideas to customers through formal presentations. Ability to interact within the coporate structure on multiple levels.

  1. German and Spanish helpful.
