Our client is a leading manufacturer of refrigerated dips and spreads. They have a new opportunity for a Senior Scientist at their location in the mid-Atlantic states. The position is heavily focused towards innovation and new product development in a growing category in fresh foods. They are seeking an individual who will bring the combination of technical track record and leadership qualities for advancement to the R&D management track in 2-3 years.


Partner with Marketing and Sales to identify and develop new product platforms.

Lead the commercialization of new products, following sound scientific principles to meet project goals.

Provide leadership and technical guidance to Operations/QC and plant staff for quality and cost improvements through reformulation and process optimization.


Five (5) or more years’ experience with food/CPG product development and innovation.

A demonstrated track record of major new product platform introductions in consumer-facing companies.

Cross-functional team leadership experience with internal and external partners and teams.

A broad technical background that includes exposure to short-shelf- life, refrigerated products. Solid knowledge and experience in food science, thermal processing and food safety.

Technical problem-solving /commercialization experience to introduce consumer-facing innovations.

A strong record of project management successes that demonstrate an ability to keep things on track, identify issues, re-direct when necessary and deliver projects on time.


A passion for food. Culinary orientation and ability to translate consumer insights to craveable dairy and vegetable products.

A driver, influencer and consensus-builder who can shape innovation.

An ability to work on multiple projects.

A high-energy professional with some tolerance for risk and an ability to work in an entrepreneurial culture.

A willingness to travel 30% (domestic and international).


BS/MS/PhD in Food Science or Chemical Engineering.

Advanced degree is preferred.
